LET'S SCRAP DESIGN TEAM 2012/2013

Sunday, December 9, 2012

Good afternoon ladies, I have not been around for quite some time, but will try and get updated with some posts in the next couple of days :-)

I am very excited and proud to announce that I have been chosen for the Let's Scrap Design Team from December 2012 until March 2013!!!!!  This will be my third term on the DT and I am super excited to be working with some very talented fellow DT members.  They are as follows:

I am so excited to be working with all these talented ladies!  A huge congrats to all of them and a special congrats to Cathy for being our DT organiser!!!!!

For the DT application we had to make a layout from the following sketch, designed by Jennifer Russell,

This is my take on the sketch,

The pictures in this layout was taken of our newest addition to our little family - our baby boy, Jonathan.  The pictures were taken at his newborn shoot when he was only 6 days old.  I just love all the pictures that the photography, Henriette Wolfswinkel from Howling Moon Photography took.  For more pictures, have a look at the blogpost from the photographer, HELLO JONATHAN! / JOHANNESBURG NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

I used Kaisercraft Miss Match collection paper and embellishment and the title I used are from Enmarc.  Here are some pictures of the details.

I hoped you had fun reading the post.

Happy Scrappin'

The shop is located in the main street of Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. One block from the beach! We stock over 12 000 items in our store and over half of them are also available online at www.scrapbookstudio.co.za.  We love, love, love paper and we just can’t get enough of it!  Stamping, Inking and Punching also feature high on our list of Scrapbooking priorities!  We try our best to always have the latest products in store as soon as they are available. Classes are taught on a weekly basis and you are welcome to come and scrap at the store every day, where one of our talented staff members will help you with your pages/cards/projects.  We also sponsor various community projects in our town, as we believe that giving back to the community is really important.  Please visit our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Scrapbook-Studio/123773987712752 or our blog http://www/scrapbookstudio.blogspot.com to view some of our projects!  We hope you will enjoy the prize that we are sponsoring and look forward to seeing you in store or online!

SCRAP AFRICA SKETCH CHALLENGE #5

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

I must admit, since we found out I was pregnant at the beginning of the year, I have not been able to keep my attention on my scrapbooking.  Most of the time is either spent at the office or doing baby shopping - and there are so many gorgeous baby thingies :-)

Here and there I have been able to make time to scrap, the inspiration is not always there, but I got some stuff done.  I have not however been able to keep my blog up to date.  So today's posts are more about showing some of the layouts I have made in the past few weeks, but not been able to blog about.

Along with Scrap Africa's 5th Sketch challenge, there was some awesome news that the sponsor for this sketch is Kaisercraft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This time there is two prizes!  In order to stand a chance of winning one of the two prize packs, all you have to do is take part in either sketch challenge #5 or challenge #5 (I have done a blog post on this, here is the link if you want to go and have a look -

SCRAP AFRICA CHALLENGE #5

Each of the prizes include the following:

  • 35 sheets of paper;
  • 3 paper pads;
  • 3 packs of rub-ons;
  • 3 packs of stamps;
  • 1 pack of ribbon;
  • 1 pack of collectables;
  • 1 acetate sheets and
  • 5 sticker sheets (30x30)
These prize packs include materials from the brand new collections, Magnolia Grove and Rock Pool, as well as 4 other brand new collections that will be released in June and July!  Oh my word, this is awesome news, it really makes me wish that I could take part in this challenge!  You really do not want to miss out on this great opportunity!

*********************************************************************************
I guess by now you cannot wait to see the sketch, well here it is!

Due to the fact that our sponsor for this challenge was Kaisercraft, it was requested that we as designers use Kaisercraft products in our layouts.  To me that was definitely no problem and even less of a challenge, due to the fact that I adore Kaisercraft and have almost ALL of there ranges.  Here is my take on the sketch.

The best news ever is that this challenge is still open until 31 May 2012.  So please go and enter your layouts on Scrap Africa, so you can stand a chance to win this awesome prize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCRAP AFRICA CHALLENGE #5

Morning ladies, the time has come for a new challenge over at Scrap Africa.

The challenge this week is based on the following poster, which was taken from Pinterest

Now before you get to excited, remember - KEEP CALM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will need to create any scrap project, whether it is a layout, a card or an altered object, with a phrase on it "Keep Calm and ..." - the end of the phrase is up to you.  Be funny, be creative, be thoughtful - whatever the mood you are in, as long as you spread the calmness around :-)

If you decide to create a poster featuring a phrase, make sure you think of something innovative and interesting.  It must not just be plain letters on the plain background!!!!!!!!!!

You can see some more ideas of "Keep Calm" phrases on this Pinterest board.

*********************************************************************************

When I first read this challenge, I had a bit of a problem trying to Keep Calm, but after lots of thinking and a few attempts at it, I finally came up with the following layout.

The pictures in this layout were taken at our very first scan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Here are some pictures of the detail.

*********************************************************************************

Over at Scrap Africa, our guest designers for this challenge were Roulien Stahnke and Val Thorpe.  These ladies were among the winners of the Scrap Africa Rainbow Challenge.  It is such an honour to have them join us and to bring you these wonderful inspiration!  So please head on over to there blogs and have a look at what they did!  Then you must also head on over to Scrap Africa, to see what the other designers came up with.  It is amazing how each one's take on this challenge is so different and unique!

We believe that by now you are totally calm and ready to begin with your own exciting projects.  Once you have completed them, please link them to Challenge #5 - Keep Calm and ...  You have until the 14th of June for this challenge!

Looking forward to seeing your projects!

Scrapping Regards
