BLACK WITH 2 AUGUST CHALLENGE

Over at Black With 2 the August Challenge is still on the go.

Here is this month's colour palette.  The challenge this month is Dominant Black with Sunset Orange and Tropical waters + you're allowed 5% white.  

For my take on this challenge I used a sketch from Let's Scrap and came up with the following layout.  

The paper is from a very old Kaisercraft range, which I had tons of, and funnily enough, still do :-)  I am not a huge orange fan, but I really love how this turned out.  Here are some pictures of the details.

NUTS ABOUT SKETCHES DESIGN TEAM

So over the weekend I received super exciting news!!!!!!!

I HAVE BEEN PICKED TO BE ON THE NUTS ABOUT SKETCHES DESIGN TEAM FOR THE TERMS SEPTEMBER 2013 TO FEBRUARY 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a sketch blog run by Shawn Lahr, who also designs all the sketches!!!!!!!!!

Earlier this year, I also applied for the DT at NAS, but was not so lucky.  So I was very excited when I made the term this time round!!!!!  For that call you had to make a layout using one of there sketches.  I used sketch 255, here is the sketch and my take on it :-)

BLACK WITH 2

Super excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been pick to be part of the Black with 2 Design Team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a challenge blog, run by Eve Rae where you have to create a layout based on a colour palette.  The catch is that the main colour is black and then you add two of the colours in the palette.

For August they have the challenge is to use Dominant Black with Sunset Orange and Tropical Waters, plus you are allowed 5% white.

SCRAPBOOK EVENT @ DAINFERN

Finally, after months and months of nagging, were we able to get Cariena from The Scrapbook Studio in Jeffreys Bay to host an event here in Joburg.  And boy, what an awesome 2-day event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We really had an awesome time and I took tons of pictures, so I think the best will be if I have more than one post, as I just cannot put it all in one.

ENJOY THE JOURNEY TAUGHT BY CARIENA BASSON

Saturday morning started off with a bang, with an awesome layout designed by Cariena!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We used some lovely papers, was taught awesome techniques using alcohol inks, and was even showed an easy way to make rosettes.  Here are some pictures.....................

LITTLE MAN TAUGHT BY JOWILNA NOLTE

On Sunday morning we had our second class which was taught by Jowilna.  And I have to say it again, what an awesome and talented women she is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We used a variety of papers and learnt some awesome techniques with alcohol inks and salt!  There was even some more stitiching on this layout................
