Here is this week's sketch at Let's Scrap, designed by Cheri.
Before I tell you more about my take on the sketch, maybe I should give you a bit more detail on the sketch. Let's Scrap posts a double page sketch each Wednesday, except on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, they give a card sketch. You are welcome to do one or both sides, flip it, rotate it, interchange them for cards or layouts. You will have until 11:59 pm the following Tuesday (main page time) to upload your creation to be entered into the draw. For each time you upload a layout or a card your name goes into the hat for the wonderful weekly prize!

During November 2010 my husband and I took German guests to one of our theme parks in Johannesburg named Gold Reef City. Apart from all the rides you can go on, there is also an old gold mine that you can take a tour through. We decided to go on the Jozi's Story of Gold.
It is a unique experience that takes you through the historical world of Gold Reef City Theme Park. This magical drip down memory lane tells you all about how Johannesburg came into being, how gold was discovered on the reef and how the lives of men and women formed an integral part of a rich and fascinating heritage.
Recently I purchased one of Kaisercraft's newest ranges, Little Toot. I really wanted to use it, and to keep to the theme of the paper, I decided to use pictures of the day at Gold Reef City, but only those that have something to do with rides. However, I also wanted to bring in my hubby and I, hence the picture of us infront of the starting point of the tour.
All the embellishments I used were from the Kaisercraft ranges, but I decided to rather keep the embellishing to the minimum. For the title, I wanted to, once again, keep the train idea, and in the end I went for the title, RIDING THE HERITAGE TRAIN. The reason for this was that we went on a heritage tour, and I wanted to combine that with a mode of transport.
I really hope you enjoy this layout, and if you have not been to Let's Scrap before, head on over there and join us in the fun!
