SCRAP AFRICA SKETCH CHALLENGE #5

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

I must admit, since we found out I was pregnant at the beginning of the year, I have not been able to keep my attention on my scrapbooking.  Most of the time is either spent at the office or doing baby shopping - and there are so many gorgeous baby thingies :-)

Here and there I have been able to make time to scrap, the inspiration is not always there, but I got some stuff done.  I have not however been able to keep my blog up to date.  So today's posts are more about showing some of the layouts I have made in the past few weeks, but not been able to blog about.

Along with Scrap Africa's 5th Sketch challenge, there was some awesome news that the sponsor for this sketch is Kaisercraft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This time there is two prizes!  In order to stand a chance of winning one of the two prize packs, all you have to do is take part in either sketch challenge #5 or challenge #5 (I have done a blog post on this, here is the link if you want to go and have a look -

SCRAP AFRICA CHALLENGE #5

Each of the prizes include the following:

  • 35 sheets of paper;
  • 3 paper pads;
  • 3 packs of rub-ons;
  • 3 packs of stamps;
  • 1 pack of ribbon;
  • 1 pack of collectables;
  • 1 acetate sheets and
  • 5 sticker sheets (30x30)
These prize packs include materials from the brand new collections, Magnolia Grove and Rock Pool, as well as 4 other brand new collections that will be released in June and July!  Oh my word, this is awesome news, it really makes me wish that I could take part in this challenge!  You really do not want to miss out on this great opportunity!

I guess by now you cannot wait to see the sketch, well here it is!

Due to the fact that our sponsor for this challenge was Kaisercraft, it was requested that we as designers use Kaisercraft products in our layouts.  To me that was definitely no problem and even less of a challenge, due to the fact that I adore Kaisercraft and have almost ALL of there ranges.  Here is my take on the sketch.

The best news ever is that this challenge is still open until 31 May 2012.  So please go and enter your layouts on Scrap Africa, so you can stand a chance to win this awesome prize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCRAP AFRICA CHALLENGE #5

Morning ladies, the time has come for a new challenge over at Scrap Africa.

The challenge this week is based on the following poster, which was taken from Pinterest

Now before you get to excited, remember - KEEP CALM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will need to create any scrap project, whether it is a layout, a card or an altered object, with a phrase on it "Keep Calm and ..." - the end of the phrase is up to you.  Be funny, be creative, be thoughtful - whatever the mood you are in, as long as you spread the calmness around :-)

If you decide to create a poster featuring a phrase, make sure you think of something innovative and interesting.  It must not just be plain letters on the plain background!!!!!!!!!!

You can see some more ideas of "Keep Calm" phrases on this Pinterest board.

When I first read this challenge, I had a bit of a problem trying to Keep Calm, but after lots of thinking and a few attempts at it, I finally came up with the following layout.

The pictures in this layout were taken at our very first scan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Here are some pictures of the detail.
